The mutual enthusiasm explained for one lifelong Michigan fan and one adopted fan:

Fiona is a die-hard University of Michigan Wolverine fan, a graduate of the School of Art, was Captain of the Sailing Team, and bleeds Maize and Blue. She and now Paul proudly hold season football tickets years in and out, cheering on the Wolverines no matter what. Her love for the University goes beyond just the gridiron, as she’s deeply passionate about the school’s rich history, academic excellence, and strong sense of community. She can rattle off obscure facts about the team’s storied past, from Desmond Howard’s Heisman-winning season to the iconic winged helmets, and has been known to plan her entire fall schedule around game days, often traveling to Ann Arbor or planning weekends around games when she cannot travel “HOME.”

Paul has his own team addiction following the Baltimore Ravens from their inception. He follows every action from their MVP quarterback to every offseason move. Additionally, he has followed the Baltimore Orioles since he could recognize the orange bird and sneak out to watch games. Paul has followed every high and low of both teams, including the Ravens’ 2012 Super Bowl win of the Harbaugh Bowl, which he watched from Yemen on one of many trips abroad. We hope 2025 is the year for the next Ravens run to the Super Bowl and are still waiting for the World Series Win. Paul has also long followed the Maryland Terrapins.

After meeting on a dating app, we connected through hiking and camping in Shenandoah and West Virginia. As we got closer, Paul enthusiastically in trips back to Ann Arbor — probably more than some expected normal, as those trips sometimes happened weekend after weekend. The payoff came as we followed Team 144 to the 2024 Rose Bowl for a win over Alabama and then to the College Football Playoff Championship to beat the University of Washington in January 2024.

On what we hope is a picture-perfect fall day, September 6, 2025, with the sun over Michigan Stadium’s majestic structure, please join us as we say our “I dos” on the “M” on the 50-yard line! Having our closest friends and family there, encircled by the seats where we’ve created so many unforgettable memories, will be a fairy tale come true.

The Wedding Reception will also be at Michigan Stadium Regents Guest Suite above the field, providing the best view of The Big House.
